I ended up making a Red Velvet cake the past weekend. It was delicious. Ok, so I kind of cheated, I used a box. But still I love red velvet cakes! I did actually find a wonderful recipe from the Food Network's website, check it out here!
A fun fact about red velvet cakes is that the red in them is often made from food coloring! It came about however when many recipes containing very acidic vinegar and buttermilk would tend to turn the cocoa reddish.
However the red color came about, its still delicious!
